Audley Harrison and Manny Pacquiao: Total Opposites.

I find it really strange when thinking about Audley Harrison, he really is a man of contradictions. For all that he is seen by many as a clownish figure of derision he captures the imagination and attention of the British Public for boxing in a way very few can.

And when I do think about him I am in future going to try and think about him in much the same was as I do about the Star Wars prequels and the Matrix sequels. Namely I shall pretend his career as

Why Labour and Unions must campaign for AV

I am going to make an assumption here right from the start. And that is most people reading my blog are probably coming from an instinctive left wing/liberal persuasion. And I ask readers who fit into that category to start with a thought experiment.

Strip away all your tribal loyalty to whichever party you support, strip away your preconceptions about different electoral systems and what you think about the issue of electoral reform. Do away with any personality based conclusions you have. Done that? Right now think about what is your

Mass Libel Reform Blog

I have been a keen reader of Private Eye since I was a bairn. I guess reading it for a long time before I really understood it all is one of the reasons why I became such a political animal.

One of the things reading the Eye for all these years taught me is firstly that they can get sued a lot for posting the “close to the knuckle” stuff that they do, there were quite a few apologies and retractions! Much more significantly to me was the number of stories

Shame on Woolas, Shame on his PLP supporters

Right from the top I am going to make a statement; even if Phil Woolas had not lied about an opponent, even if he had not broken any electoral law, even if he had not been found guilty in a court of election offences, then I would still want to see him thrown out of Parliament and the Labour Party. For my money he is an utter disgrace to the Labour Movement.

How Woolas ought to feel.

Let’s recap, Phil Woolas’ election campaign was predicated on stirring up racial tension for

Dr Who Live: For kids of all ages

There are many ways in which I see myself as basically a large child somehow existing in the adult world, al la Tom Hanks in “Big”. I cannot sit still for a minute, love cartoons, will happily eat a whole box of cocoa pops in one sitting if nobody stops me, my principal hobby is playing video games and I occasionally get so excited talking about something I struggle to catch my breath…. That something is often cocoa pops, a cartoon or a video game.

The Cybermen

Another thing I share

Talking Bollocks!

Now I am a massive hypochondriac, I worry about health a lot. Many a time I have had the raised eye brow from my GP as he patiently explains to me in an avuncular voice:-

“Now Ralph, in order for you to be suffering from Hysterical Pregnancy you would have to firstly be pregnant and secondly a woman!”

Or telling me that unless I had been to Africa lately it is staggeringly unlikely that I am suffering from The Ebola virus… One thing is though that I have always been able to
