Supporting a lower league side means that as a top flight neutral you can engage without fear of reprisals mercilessly joshing your compadre’s who have “second teams” (often first teams TBH) in the top flight. I have an unusually large number of Liverpool supporting pals, which is a little odd given the geographical distance between Plymouth and Liverpool. However I am sure they all have bona fida reasons for supporting Liverpool, their milkmans sisters cat once went to Merseyside or something and it has nothing to do with Liverpool being the dominant force when we were growing

A few reflections on the results yesterday.

Tories consulting omens about early election.

Yesterday i’ll have to admit I was utterly, utterly disconsolate. In truth I can’t remember being that down since England went out on penalties in Euro 2004. I was utterly deflated, and I just couldnt see any prospects of things ever getting better in politics. Unions should say YES to AV

Whatever we all think about politics I am sure one thing that we can all agree on is that things have not been all that peachy in respect of our relationship as ordinary people with our MPs in Westminster. Far too often our politicians seem distant from ordinary voters, preferring to listen bankers, and lobbyists in Westminster than the likes of us.

 

My Union is the CWU, and many CWU members who have tried to contact our MPs over the last few years about the various government wheezes to privatise

Why I love Stephen Moffat's Dr Who.

God Dam this is scary.

 

 

I recently had an interesting three-way “twitchat” with some twitter pals (hat tip to @penners_ @saxbend and @ishbroken) about the new series of Doctor Who and whether or not it was any good. I am a massive Who fan and have been for as long as I can remember. What surprised me though was that my absolute adoration for the direction the series is taking under the oversight of Stephen Moffat isn’t shared by all…. horses for courses I suppose.
